Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Is Here
Paying eighty bucks for an older game port is wild. But Nintendo fans will buy it anyway. The Tarnished Edition just dropped today. It brings the full massive game to the Switch 2. It includes the base game and the big expansion in one box.
If you play on PC or Xbox you do not need to spend that much. You can just grab the Tarnished Pack instead. It costs five dollars. I played a ton of teh base game. Five bucks is a very fair price to jump back in.
What do you actually get for your money? It is a small add-on.
New Stuff in the Pack
Two brand new starter classes
New horse skins for Torrent
Fresh armor sets to find
A callback to an old classic sword
This new pack adds two staring, wait, starting classes to pick from. One is the Heavy Knight. It has really high endurance. It starts with huge strength. The other is the Idis Knight. That one comes with a light greatsword right away. It makes early combat feel totally different. You get to use rare weapons right from the tutorial.
Patch 1.17 Changes
The paid pack is cool. The free patch is even better. Patch 1.17 went live alongside the new edition. It fixes a lot of annoying stuff in the code.
Players complained about bad loot in the recent DLC. The developers actually listened. They changed the rewards you get from tough field enemies. You now get much better items for your trouble. They also tweaked weapon damage. Shields got a very nice buff. Parrying works better now.
I think the Idis Knight is the best reason to start a new save file. Getting that fast sword early is great. You do not have to wait hours to find one. The heavy knight is pure tank energy for slow combat fans.
Go check out the update today. The patch downloads automatically on your system. The five dollar pack is in your platform store right now.
